So you want to join the official 2PM Korean fancafe, eh? No problem~! Or is it?  ?? Anyone can join the 2PM Korean fancafe, as long as you have a verified Daum account.  If you are a paid member of the HOTTEST fanclub, you get full access to the fancafe + special events and guerilla chatting (not available for non-HOTTEST members).  We are currently in the middle of the HOTTEST 3rd cycle which ends in July 2012.  HOTTEST 4th cycle will begin after HOTTEST 3rd cycle is done, so everyone can apply later this year.  Until then, join the fancafe anyways, you can join fun events and see official notices (all in Korean though~).  It's also best to be prepared for when HOTTEST 4th comes up this summer so that you're not scrambling to get your accounts created and verified! ^__^V

Anyways, on to the process!  

#1 - CREATE A DAUM ACCOUNT ---> #2 VERIFY YOUR DAUM ACCOUNT ---> #3 JOIN THE HOTTEST FANCAFE

STEP #1 - Create a Daum Account

Follow the step-by-step instructions here! ^^


STEP #2 - Verify your Daum account

TRY 2a tutorial first, if that doesn't work try 2b tutorial, if that doesn't work try 2c tutorial~

When it comes to creating accounts on Korean sites, whether it's a fansite or a company's interactive site, etc~ a Korean Social Security Number (KSSN) is required. Why, I'm not sure but this is just how it is in Korea.  Since we do not have KSSNs, we have to verify our identities in a different way~ by showing them a copy of our IDs or Passports.  All of that information is kept confidential, so you have nothing to worry about.  This method can get tricky depending on Daum Customer Service.  IF you receive a rejection letter using 2a, try using 2b.  If 2b doesn't work, try using 2c.  If that doesn't work, just keep trying.  Most people had to try either going through all 3 methods or repeating 1 of the methods over and over again (some as many as 9 times) before they finally got verified.  So just stick with it!!!


STEP #3 - Join the Hottest Fancafe

Join the fancafe and you're in!  You'll have limited access for now until you either level up (we do not have a tutorial for this but we'll consider making one ASAP) or you become an official HOTTEST member! ^^

How to join the official Hottest Fan Cafe - part 1 / 3

I apologize for this taking so long to be posted. I wanted to go through the process myself to ensure that everything worked.  I'm all confirmed and ready to go, so we can get on with it now! ^^

There are many steps we must take to join the Hottest Fan Cafe! Step #1 is to create a Daum account!  There are several known steps so far...4 as of right now, a few more will come once Hottest 3 applications actually open on June 7th.


STEP #1: Go to DAUM.NET.  Click on "????".

STEP #2: Click on "?? ??"

STEP #3: Checkmark the boxes on each agreement, then click on the blue button to accept.

STEP #4: Here's the fun stuff! ^^ Fill in your information~!

• For your username, be sure that it's in all lowercase, otherwise it won't accept your name.
  
• Be sure to put your full name in the name box because in the next part of this 4 part tutorial, you will have to verify your name. For your email address, choose "????" from the dropdown menu. This will allow you to write in your own email address. (i.e. missnakaji@2oneday.com, etc).
  
• Click the box next to the email address line. This will send a confirmation email to that email address with a number. It should look like this ---> click for preview.
  
• Check your email within a couple of minutes. It will most likely go straight to your spam folder, so be sure to check there!
  
• *this step does not appear in the screencap* A box should appear below the email address line. Type in the number from the confirmation email and click the button next to it.
  
• *this step does not appear in the screencap* Then, the Captcha should pop up. Type the letters/numbers in exactly as they appear in the box. Click the button to the right to confirm.
  
• Then, click the blue button below to complete the process!

STEP #5: If you've done everything correctly, you should see a screen that looks like this~

Once you've completed this process, you can move on to STEP 2! Confirming your identity!! ^^ (i'll post this shortly~~)

Alrighty, got your Daum account up and running? GREAT! But since we're foreigners and do not have a Korean Social Security Number (KSSN), Daum needs to confirm our identities in a different way.  So login to your Daum account and let's go!

STEP #1: Head back to DAUM.NET, scroll to the footer and click on "????"

Then click on "????"

Then click on "????"

STEP #2: Now it's time to fill out an inquiry to customer service!

• First, select "?? ??" (other inquiries)
  
• Then, your username should be in the "???" box.
  
• In the "??(??)", try putting in your real name. If you get a warning box later on that tells you that your name is invalid, leave this line completely blank and submit.
  
• For your email address, just have it sent directly to your Daum email (even if you put something different, it sends it there anyways.. ><)
  
• In the "??" line, write:  ?? ??? ???. This means "regarding personal identification"
  
• In the "??" box, write: ?????.?? ??? ????. ?? ??? ? ??? ????. ? ????????. ?????! This is just asking them to verify your identity with your passport/ID photos.
  
• Scan your passport (make sure your name and photo are visible). For good measure, I also scanned my driver's license in one photo. (some alternative government issued ID is perfectly fine)
  
• Upload it in the next line that says "??".
  
• Once it's uploaded, check the box below and then click on "??".

STEP #3: Receipt of confirmation from Daum Customer Service

Daum Customer service should send you an email saying that they have received your inquiry and they will respond to you ASAP. It should look like this:

You will most likely not receive this email right away. For me, I didn't get this email until a day later, for others only a couple of hours.  Just be patient.



STEP #4: Confirmation of your identity from Daum Customer Service

Once Customer Service approves you, you should get an email that looks like this to your Daum.net email~

For me, I didn't get my approval until 2, almost 3 days later. Some received it quicker than this. It just depends! So give it time and be patient!

Some of you tried to do Part 2a but didn't have any luck. Admin Shoaa had the same issue, so we did this step instead and it worked out just fine! ^^ So instead of confirming our identities with Daum, we're going to confirm it with Daum Cafe, directly from the 2PM Fan Cafe!

ONLY DO EITHER STEP 2a or 2b!!!


STEP #1: Go to the 2PM Fan Cafe and scroll way down to the bottom. Click on "?? ????" (Cafe Customer Service Center).

Then, click on the button "????? ????"

STEP #2: Now we're in the Cafe Customer Service Center! Time to fill out the form again~~

• For "????", select "??????" from the dropdown menu.
  
• For "?? ??", write in your Daum username@hanmail.net (this is your Daum email address)
  
• For "??", write in "?? ??? ???"
  
• For "??", write in "?? ??????. ??? ???? ?? ???, ?? ??? ?????. ?????, ????? ??? ?????. ?????! <write your full name as it should appear on your ID/passport>"
  
• Upload a photo of your passport and/or government issued ID! (scan or take a clear photo of, as long as it's readable!)
  
• Click on ?? to send the message!

STEP #3: Confirmation of your identity from Daum Cafe Customer Service

Once Customer Service approves you, you should get an email that looks like this to your Daum.net email~

For me, I didn't get my approval until 2, almost 3 days later. Some received it quicker than this. It just depends! So give it time and be patient!

How to join the official Hottest Fan Cafe - part 2c / 3

Thank you so much to Caitlin aka BacktoBobby for figuring this out. This seems to be the problem for some of you that have sent in your passports/IDs to be verified, but you still get some kind of other rejection email from Daum.  

If you get a rejection letter that is telling you to verify your email address or something along those lines, then that's exactly what you have to do! Whatever email address you used to create your Daum account, you need to verify this on your profile. (WHY? I have no idea.... ~__~).  So let's get to it~

STEP #1: Go to DAUM.NET. Login and click on your username to view your profile.

STEP #2: Click on ?????? (profile management)

STEP #3: Type in your password again

STEP #4: Now, we have to verify the email address that you signed up with. NOT your Daum.net/Hanmail account, but the email that you used to sign up. Sooo, click on the button below your username

A box should pop up and looks like this:

Type in your email address. You should receive an email (be sure to check your spam folder just in case...). Click on the link that you get in the email to verify.

After this step is done, go ahead and try to verify your identity again *using either tutorial 2a or 2b* including your passport and everything. In the message this time though, be sure to put your non Daum email address at the bottom of the message.

This method worked for Caitlin and a few others that I shared her method with, so I hope that this works for you! I know it's frustrating and I give all of you *high fives* for sticking with it and trying!!! *tosses bags of dried mangoes around*.

How to join the official Hottest Fan Cafe - part 3 / 3

Now that your Daum account is created AND verified, you can join the HOTTEST fan cafe! :)  Beware, everything is in Korean and it'd be a wise idea to tread lightly here and not use english very frequently either.  You will have limited access at this point, so even though you've joined the cafe, you still need to level up.  We'll try to create that tutorial soon~!

STEP #1: Join the fan cafe~!

Click on the black button on the left hand-side that says "?? ????"

• Scroll through the agreement. Put a checkmark in the box below it.
  
• For "???", this going to be your cafe username. You can leave it the same as your Daum account, or you can change it (english or Korean, either one~).
  
• For "????", you can check the box or not. This is if you want to receive email from the fancafe (to your Daum account email)
  
• For "???", this is the question you must answer to join. "2PM? ????? (??????????)" or "What is 2PM's debut song? (write without spaces).  You should know this answer! ^^ 10 out of 10! You must write it in Korean with no spaces, like this ----> 10????10?
  
• For "????", write the Captcha in the box!
  
• And click "??" when you're done!

You should see a screen popup that looks like this!

You're in! You can roam around, although not all threads will be visible to you.  I'll show you how to level up later this week so that you have full access.  And eventually, I'll make a tutorial so that you know how to navigate the cafe! ;)





Don't forget to also Join 2AM's Fancafe as well!!!

yes, when u're already joined the fancafe, u still can't access some threads. u need to upgrade ur level. and since it's written in hangul, it's really difficult for non-korean hottest to answer those questions TT i answered 3x and 3x rejected HAHA, but then i finally made it \o/ thanks to google translate! LOL
so, idk if it's legal or not, but how if u guys make a thread that provide the answers of the leveling questions every week? u can limit the access only for those who active in this forum if it's needed, i mean it's accessable only for those who are really hottest, u know what i mean right ._.
